"Serhiy Azarchenkov, 20.

Serhiy lived with his mother in the Left Bank district, near Victory Square. Like many Mariupol residents, they were waiting for a "green corridor" and an official evacuation. They hoped to survive despite the constant shelling of the area.

The tragedy happened on the night of March 20, 2022.

"We were asleep. It was 11pm. One bomb hit a neighboring building, two others hit ours. I remember a powerful hit in my face. I was struck by a shrapnel, and Serhiy never even understood what happened. His heart gave out," his mother Inna said.

"His mother left his body in the street with a note in his hand. She doesn't know where he is buried, because she had to leave the city that day," added his homeroom teacher, Tetiana Ilnytska.

Serhiy was killed on the eve of possible evacuation. What a tragedy.

Eternal memory. 🖤"
